Chicago, Illinois (PRWEB) March 08, 2012 – Linda Mack, founder and president of Mack International, a premier retained executive search and strategic family office consulting firm, will Chair the 2012 Asian Family Office Forum. The forum will be held on March 12 at the Grand Hyatt Singapore.
“The Asian Family Office Forum 2012 theme, “Transferring Wealth,” focuses on preparing the next generation for family leadership in a globalized world,” explains Linda Mack. “It will also focus on access to potential untapped opportunities by co-investing, navigating the complexities of family dynamics, and adapting to the needs of affluent Asian families by building a family office.”
This exclusive, closed-door event is a comprehensive forum where family offices, endowments, foundations, family businesses and entrepreneurs will discuss the benefits of trusted advice, succession planning, wealth transfer, estate planning and investment governance associated with developing and running a successful family office.
In addition to serving as Chairman of the event, Linda Mack will be the moderator for three sessions on March 12. The first is “Getting the family governance in place to better manage the family business.” Panelists include Carol Seah, Managing Director, Wynnes Family Office (MFO), Noor Quek, Managing Director NQ International Pte Ltd., and Alisher Ali, Founder, Global Nomad Family Office, Mongolia (MFO).
“The session will discuss how to create a family governance system that addresses the key challenges of family leadership and transition, decision-making processes and family fairness,” said Mack. “We will also look at how to define the boundaries between family, ownership and management when Asian patriarchs are authoritative in character,” she added.
The second session will be investment focused, titled “Overcoming new challenges to family wealth management in unpredictable cycles and market anomalies.”
“This panel will look at the dual impact of Europe’s sovereign debit crisis and sluggish global economic growth on investment strategies, where to find new sources of income and returns given market uncertainty, how to align the investment allocation with a family’s long term capital objectives and greater need of liquidity, and maintaining a vibrant strategy by evaluating complex products for wealth creation,” Mack said.
Investment discussion panelists will include Frederick Shepperd, CEO, Shepperd Investors (SFO), William Chan, CEO, Stamford Privee (MFO) and Hubert-Lance Huet, Chairman, H Group (MFO).
The third session, focused on family business, is “Navigating uncertainties and ensuring continuity of the family enterprises.”
“Panelists will examine a number of issues including how to establish the right family policies and processes to minimize family business conflicts and fragmentation of shareholdings and how to create a strong family business governance structure,” noted Mack. “We will also look at relationship issues too, such as how delayed retirement of senior leaders might affect the family business direction and the successor’s roles, strategies for successful communications across generations with a strong-minded patriarch, and how to ensure smoother integration of spouses and non-family members into the business family,” she added.
Panelists include Kirby Rosplock, Director of Research and Development, GenSpring Family Offices, USA (MFO) and Florence Koh, Group Advisor, Bekasi Tower 88 Group, 3rd Generation Koh Family Trust, Singapore.
